Today, we are often confronted with international situations. Situations in which we have to prove ourselves and present us and our ideas to others. Meeting these challenges, requires candor but also great knowledge about and sensibility to differences and potentially occurring problems. As a matter of fact, even the most carefully prepared presentation can be disastrous when fundamental details, as the right tone, color or symbols are not taken into consideration.
Content To rise to the challenges of working in and with international teams, the main focus of this training course is intercultural decision making and responsibility in negotiations and professions. The approach is very practical and is flanked by short theoretical input.
This training is not orientated towards one certain culture but rather emphasizes commonly used techniques in international contexts: presentation skills as well as potentially occurring issues in negotiations.
You will gain insights into - Intercultural Communication - culture standards and cultural dimensions - relationship orientation and attitudes towards time
You will learn about - the impact of different communication and negotiation styles - common presentation techniques and particular features of international presentations - types of conflicts and conflict resolution strategies - dealing with conflicts in international contexts - conversational skills in intercultural communication
Methods A variety of methods is being used to give all participants the opportunity to learn about theoretical concepts, to reflect on theory and to put it into practice: short talks, questionnaires, critical incidents, guidelines and interactive communication exercises.
For review, participants receive a handout of all talks and comprehensive documentation of the training material.
